Since 2014, when a sapling from the Tree of Gernika was planted alongside about fifty oaks and beeches, the Bosque de la Concordia–Adiskidetasun Basoa (Forest of Harmony) in Derio has continued to grow through the support of individuals, businesses, and organisations that have sponsored a total of 300 trees.
This space, conceived as a symbol of unity and of Bizkaia’s commitment to the environment, will close a cycle in 2026, bringing the sponsorship programme to an end. The simple fact is that the physical capacity to plant new trees in the Bosque de la Concordia has now reached its limit. Nevertheless, the spirit and the social and sustainability values that have accompanied this initiative will remain very much alive. Each tree that takes root in the Bosque de la Concordia strengthens our community’s commitment to promoting a greener future.
To enhance the profile of this collective effort, Seminario Zentrum has created a detailed map showing the locations and listings of all the trees sponsored over the past 12 years. This document makes it possible to identify each individual tree and acknowledges the contributions of those involved in this environmental initiative.
